SWEET ICE TEA
Makes One Gallon
Anyone whom has ever sit at one of Mama's Hunter's Meals knows
that the tea is sweet and strong, but just right.
She would take 4 family size tea bags.
( This is after bags came
out, before she would use ground tea, that she would strain through a strainer,
after the tea came to a boil.)
Put tea bags in 2 quart pan with water.
Bring to a boil
Turn off and let simmer.
Take a gallon container
Add 3 heaping cups of sugar to container
Then add hot tea to container so the sugar
will dissolve. Stir
until sugar is dissolved and then finish filling with water and stir again.
Sassafras Tea When you
go walking through the woods and come upon a Sassafras Tree.
Pull some of the roots up.
Take home
Slightly wash - enough just to get dirt off
Put in a pot of water and bring to boil
Let boil about 30 minutes hard
Then let simmer about 30 minutes or so
Strain liquid from roots
Put in cup
Add sugar and milk to taste
Enjoy!
