"The Toilets Of Our Life"
|
I was reading the devotion below and it came to my mind that there are so many people in the world that are being hurt by what comes out of someone's mouth.
And you know as I travel, I listen to people talk.
The sad thing about it is that usually and most of the time, the harshness comes from their own family members.
Why is it that husbands, wives, children and, etc. think that they can be so cruel to their own loved ones?
Well I can answer that question, because if they blow their mouths off at someone else they may get it right back.
I watched a little movie a while back. The woman was being hit,
and hollered at by her husband to be. She asked her Aunt what to do about it.
Her Aunt said, " before or after his funeral."
Then the Aunt proceeded to show her how to use a frying pan, and it was not to cook with.
I know that you may think I sound harsh in my thoughts, but there is NO REASON a man or woman should use their mate or children as a sounding board or a hitting board.
Yes, this is happening in the world.
The sad thing is that it is taking place in Christian Homes, where that husband or wife calls themselves Christians.
I want to say, if this is taking place in your home, you
had better get on your knees and ask the person to forgive you, and then ask God to forgive you.
Because, one day you will stand before God and be judged for your actions.
I thank God that I have a good husband. I pray every
day that when God gets ready, that He will
send my daughters a good husband just like their daddy;
a Christian Husband who treats his girls with a lot of love, and knows how to respect and protect us.
I ask you right now to forgive me if I seem tough on this subject, but I just do not believe that as people and mostly Christians we should act in a way that
makes God cry every time it happens.
Thanks Joanne for this devotion. And Amen and Amen

THE TOILETS OF OUR LIFE
“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
Ephesians 4: 29 – 32
King James Version
Just as the toilets in our bathrooms contain material that stinks, so does the unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment, jealousy, hatred, envy, strife, sarcasm and criticism that we allow to accumulate in our hearts. We can flush our toilets in the bathrooms, but it takes the cleansing atoning blood of our Saviour to flush away the stink in our hearts.
If we are having trouble forgiving people because they have hurt us, we need to follow the example of our Heavenly Father and forgive them for Christ’s sake. If we will ever understand that we don’t have a right to harbor unforgiveness in our hearts, I think we will live a more productive and peaceful life. It certainly will make Jesus happy if we will forgive as He has told us to do.
Sometimes we become so cold and indifferent to people that Jesus has to take us to the wood shed to correct us. He tries talking to us but if we refuse to listen and obey Him, then He corrects us with love. How is your heart today? Is it filled with things that stink in the nostrils of Jesus? If so, allow Him to take all of that away through His grace, mercy and understanding. He Loves you very much and wants you to be happy, but we can never be happy without being in right standing with our Saviour.
