"A House Of Love"
|
Hello Everyone,
I pray that each of you had a wonderful day. We did here. Ruby and
Mama took me out for my birthday; number 53. We went to eat Mexican
food. I know why Mama is 91 years old now. It is all those hot
peppers she loves. Maybe they have made her tough and strong willed.
I know what they would do to me, so I just stay away from them. If I
did eat them, you all would have to stay away from me. Ha Ha
Well, in the last 24 hours we had 20 inches of rain. Mama said she
has never seen that much rain in her life around here. Remember mama
is 91 years old. There are so many houses under water.
In Richland Parish where they life, the Governor declared a disaster
area. Rayville may be shown on the national news. So many of their
friends lost their homes.
Lighting hit my sister Ruby's air conditioner and literally blew it
up. It was right at the windows of the rooms in which mama and I
sleep. God protected us. However, we have been without air now for
two days. Ruby also lost a large tree and the roof off of her
barn. Pray that the insurance adjustor will pay for the damage. Ruby
has a large deductible.
But again, please pray for the people who were flooded out. Ruby
lives on the river. Yesterday it looked like an ocean all around us,
but today it had drained into the river. So now the river is high
and about 60 feet from her back door.
A HOUSE OF LOVE
By Joanne Lowe
“Except the Lord build the house, they
labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh
but in vain.”
Psalm 127: 1
King James Version
As I was walking through my trailer a couple of days ago, I realized that
everything in it, except for a very few things, have been given to me by my
family. Being on Social Security, I would have been unable to buy all the pretty
things that have been given to me. I really do live in a house that has been
furnished with love.
There are many homes that have not been built with the love of Jesus. They have
been built by hatred, criticism, sarcasm, unforgiveness and anger. If Jesus
lives in our hearts, then He also lives in our homes. What kind of homes are we
making for Him? Does He have to hide His eyes and put plugs in His ears?
The Bible tells us that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost. (1
Corinthians 6:19) What are we putting in our bodies? Are we putting things that
bring shame to our Saviour? What are we doing with our bodies? Is what we are
doing making Him happy or are we breaking His heart by our actions? Does He have
a comfortable place in our hearts to sit down or does He have to stand because
we have allowed our hearts to become filled with anger and unforgiveness?
Jesus has prepared a mansion for us in Heaven; how can we do less than give Him
a place in our hearts and homes that is filled with peace, joy, forgiveness,
kindness and warmth? If we really do want Him to be happy, then we will ask Him
to remove all the things from our hearts and homes that hurt and offend Him.
