Devotion 22

Thank goodness it's Friday.

Yesterday was long, but God was glorified.  I ran some errands around town, came home, pulled up a few weeds in the flower bed, and then came in to rest.

But the thing I think of now is I actually went all the way out of town to Wal-Mart and even called my daughter to see if you wanted to meet me to eat. Well, she already had plans, and then all of a sudden, I just felt, I do not need to go shopping at Wal-Mart today, what I need I can pick up at Dollar General. If I go in Wal-Mart, I it will take me longer so  I am just going to go home, via Dollar General, and then the Post Office. I cut about 2 hours off my time away from home.

Anyway, just as I sit down in my recliner the doorbell rang.  i went to the door and  and a old friend was standing there. She said, "I have been trying to call you, and when you did not answer I decided to just come on over, thinking you maybe in the yard, since you had told me you were going to mow your grass today."

I have a friend with me and she wants to commit suicide. " I followed her to the car and went  to talk to the girl. I could see that it was not a good place to talk in the driveway, so I invited them in the house.

The Lord started telling me about her, things that has really caused her pain and sufferings.  When I shared them with her, she said it was all true, everything I was saying, and she started crying.  I asked her was she ready to turn her life back over to God. i told her we all have made mistakes, but God was a loving God, and most of all a God of forgiveness.

She said even if I do give my life back to God, I have family who will continually bring my passed up to me.  That they were and would always judge her, and try to tell her she was not and could not be saved.

I explained to her that her family would have to face God's judgement one day for their actions, and all the bad things they continued to say about her, but she did not need to worry about any of those things, because God would take care of them for her.  I explained that the only person she needed to listen too was the voice of God.  God would be her judge just as He would be theirs.  But God is a loving God.

Well, we talked a little while longer, then she said, I am ready to give my heart, my life, my all to God, so I prayed for her, she ask Jesus to come into her heart and God delivered her from the spirit of suicide.

God is Good.  All the time God is Good.

What I am trying to say is we need to always be ready. We need to be prayed up, and filled with God's Word. Because you never know what God may have you do today for Him.  If you are not prayed up, and have His Word embedded in your heart, you will not be able to hear His voice as He speaks to you.

So, I asked you. Have you been listening to God?  Has God told you to go somewhere, do something for someone, to plant a seed, read your Bible more, pray more, are witness to someone, but you have been so busy with your own life that you have missed His voice.

The devil uses BUSY to keep us from doing God's will.  "Being Under Satan's Yoke"  If he can keep you busy with the busy things, then you will not be doing the God things. How many times have I shared this with you in the devotions.

Then some of you may be so subdued in your self, are holding a grudge against someone, when your own attitude cause the problem in the first place that you cannot listen to God.

It is time to get out of our self pity, and wanting our own way, and always being right, so God can use us.

God wants to use us daily.  But it is our own self will that causes us not to be able to do God's work.

Right now, today, ask God to forgive you for not listening, then put on your listening ears and hear what God has to say.

(Isaiah 55: 10-11) says, "For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returned not thither, but watered the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth. It shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

When God speaks we need to listen.  He sends His word out into the world to do His work.  It is up to us to listen, then take the word that God has given us and share it.

If I had not been prayed up, and had God's Word embedded in my Spirit, I may have not heard Him say go home today.  Then I may not have been home to help the precious one God sent my way for me to minister too.  See, God may even bring someone to your house for you to minister too.

So, are you ready to do His will? Are you Prayed Up? Are you filled up with the Word of God?
