When our girls were little and the things we did for them. Mamas will always do things to make special days for their children. I remember when the Cabbage Patch Dolls first came out, (now you can find them everywhere since they are popular again) people were going everywhere to find one. I bought my girls their first dolls, from Canada. I had gone to an Alottee Convention, and they had a supply of them. I managed to get two dolls packed into my suitcase so I could surprised the girls. They came with adoption papers, telling their when they were born. So on the dolls first birthday I gave a party, at a local restaurant. We invited all the friends of the girls who had cabbage patch dolls to come and bring there dolls. They had hot dogs, cake and ice cream. It was a big event in town. We had 20 children there and their dolls. Some of the children bought one doll and others bought every cabbage patch doll they had. Chairs were sit up for all little girls and boys, and they Cabbage Babies. We even made the Sampson Independent, a local newspaper. the article said each little girls name and the name of their adopted baby cabbage patch. What a day we had, and that goes to show, what mama's do to make their children happy. "Mamas' hearts of full of joy, when they see the happiness on their children's faces."
