"Have You Become Stale"
14. "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16.In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. "Pat's Personal Words and Opinion" In the scripture above, Jesus is using salt and light to indicate the Christians influence for good as they go about their daily lives in a secular world. We all know that when salt becomes old, it becomes bitter and stale tasting. When we do not grow in the Lord, we also can become bitter, and complacent, then the world sees us as someone that they do not want to be. As Christians our daily walk should be as such that when the world looks at us, they want to be like us. In other words like Jesus who lives in us. The light of Jesus should shine though each of us in such a mighty way, that our Heavenly Father is glorified daily by our walk. When you become a Christian you should daily grow in the Lord. You should become seasoned in His Word, and Ways. Say, for instance, 5 years from now, or even 20, your life should be considerably different from what it is now. Your desires and motives, as you draw closer to Him, should be continuously more holy. As you grow in Christ, a Seasoned Christian stops being concerned about their own needs and pursuits and should have now entered into the vision of their Father so that can help heal a hurting world. A Seasoned Christian shows the maturity of holiness in their life, as they go out as Christ's disciples to accomplish the goals of the Great Commission, which says, " Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20 Notes from the Bible Text: Under the Old Covenant, holiness called Israel to live distinctly from the nations, primarily in the external matters of the Law. However Jesus calls His people to a holiness that proceeds from the heart. Holiness is the outcome of personal loyalty to God and the realization of the fulfilling fruitfulness originally intended for mankind. Recognize that your life has either a positive or negative effect. Live responsibly to bring glory to God. Joyfully, In The Master's
