Devotion March 2
"Are You Willing To Stand In The Gap?"

Hello Everyone, I know you are blessed. If you feel like you are not, you need to read the bottom of this devotion and all the rest of the devotions you receive from me.

Why? Because I speak a blessing on you, with many of prayers and love, every time I send out an devotion. I would also like for you to know that I have sent out several prayer cloths at request of others. I have anointed the cloths with Pure Olive Oil, Frankincense and Myrrh, and prayed over them.

Please note, that the cloth is not the healer, Jesus Christ is the Healer. But sometimes we need something to help our faith rise up. These cloths lets you know that I am praying for you and your need daily. If you would like a prayer cloth, just e-mail me your address.  If you do not want to put your address on the computer, my address is typed at the bottom.  Just write to me and ask for a prayer cloth.  I will mail it to you, free of charge.

Acts 19:11-12, "Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul. So that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them."

I was watching the news today, and remember a devotion I did back in 2001.  I looked it up in my files and studied back over it.  I am sending it to you today.  I have made changes and added to the devotion also. Sometimes it is good to repeat a Word from God, so we can see something that we may have missed the first time. Look at the shape that America is in today.

(Ezekiel 22:30) says, "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and STAND IN THE GAP before me for the land, THAT I SHOULD NOT DESTROY IT; but I found none."

Are we as Christians and Americans standing in the gap?  In the verses above, God said He had to destroy the land because as a just God, He had to pronounce a penalty on sin.  God's penalty for sin wasn't unjust because the people had brought judgment upon themselves by their own sin.

(Ezekiel 22:31) says, "THEIR OWN WAY have I recompensed upon their heads......"

This scripture implies that if God could have found someone to stand in the gap and make up the hedge and intercede for the land, He wouldn't have had to bring judgment on the people.  John Wesley said, "It seems God can do nothing for humanity unless someone asks Him to do it."  WOW!  If someone would just ask Him.  Think about that!  God didn't say we had to go out and try to fight Satan, a defeated foe. These verses say that if God's covenant children (did you get that) would just ask Him to move on the earth, He would hear and answer their prayers.

Satan is no match for God! The unsaved people of the world are dominated and ruled by the devil, not God. Therefore, they are destined to have "their own way recompensed upon their heads" unless they hear and receive the truth of the gospel and repent.  God looks for those who will boldly ask Him to hold back judgment and give the unsaved more time to repeat and come to the knowledge of the truth.

Then it's our responsibility to preach the gospel so people can be saved and teach them their position of authority in Christ over the devil. You see, these are the principles in God's Word on which we are to build doctrines for prayer and for taking cities and nations for God. God watches over His Word to perform it, not doctrines that are built on experiences or isolated texts taken to the extreme.

Jeremiah 1:12, "Then the Lord said to me, "You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My Word."

A person of faith takes God at His Word and realizes that God is committed to His Word.  He knows that God honors, His Word above His name and has settled in his heart that God intends to bring His Word to fulfillment.  He remains confident in God's promises and takes His warnings seriously.  Believe that God's Word is sovereign over the nations and all of history.  Rest in the confidence that God is always working to fulfill His Word.  Evaluate any "new" teaching, and stay close to the plain meaning of God's Word. Be assured that you cannot improve on the Bible.

Remember that God intends good for His people to give them hope. In other word, get up off the pew and head down to Altar on your knees. God is waiting, for someone to just ASK. Father God, I want to be one who stands in the gap for my country today.  In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen and Amen

Joyfully, In The Master's Service
   Blessings, Prayers and Love,
