went to get a haircut today, and someone different cut my hair. Now I wear my hair short, but , well, anyway. As she cut it I thought to myself, it will grow back quick. The thing that really got me was boy did the gray hair show. See I am totally gray headed. Not a brown hair in my head accept what Mrs. Clairol puts in. My daughters, mostly the older one does not want me to have gray hair. Well, I can tell her that I do have them, and I earned everyone of them. The place I got my hair cut does not do color, only cuts and permanents. The girl cutting my hair said, you might better leave here and go straight and get you some color. I not sure if she realized that she had cut all my color off, are she was insulting me. Ha-Ha. Anyway I did agree with her. (Proverbs 17:22) "A Merry Heart Does Good, Like Medicine, But A Broken Spirit Dries The Bones." I have started getting my books down and unboxing them. I came across one that said "You Might Be A Preacher If.... I thought I would share a few of the statements with you. I think we all need to laugh a little. The old devil seems to be working overtime trying to destroy churches, families and everything he can get his hands on. What gets me is we have power over him. As Christians we need to realize this, and remember Jesus died on the cross and took the keys of death and hell back from satan and gave them to us, His church, to use over satan. In other words, Jesus gave us His Power Of Attorney, In The Name Of Jesus. Satan only has the power over us when we give it to him. I do not know about you, but I just (ain't) going to let him have the power over my family. What about you. Aren't you sick and tired of being sick and tired? Well get up off you back side and tell satan and his demons where to go. Now lets laugh just a little bit. It will do us all some good. It will confuse satan. He will say while scratching his head, "I thought they were discourage, I thought I sent one of my demons to give them a bad day, but they are laughing." "What is going on?" See do not let him see you discourage. Make him think everything is okay. You will start to see a difference in your life. I also want to say, that preachers love to have fun. They have the same problems and good times that others have. So love your Pastor and thank God everyday for him/her. For everyday they go before God's Throne of Mercy and Grace and pray for you asking God's favor and blessing for you and your family. "Laugh and make others wonder what you are thinking about. Then maybe they will laugh along with you. Pastor Pat Aman You might be a preacher if, You've ever seen an "In Memory Of...plate over a commode. You might be a preacher if, You've secretly wanted the head usher to give you a high-five after a particularly good sermon. You might be a preacher if, You're tired of being a shepherd and would rather be a cowboy or cowgirl and "brand" a few in your flock. You might be a preacher if, Your Christmas bonus includes a good old-fashioned food pounding. You might be a preacher if, Running red lights in a funeral procession makes you feel important. You might be a preacher if, Everybody else has all the answers, but you get stuck with all the questions. You might be a preacher if, You frequently wonder, "Do I have a target on my back?" You might be preacher if, The car you're driving won't jeopardize your church's nonprofit status. You might be a preacher if, You've ever wanted to tell Brother "Know-it-all" a thing or two. You might be a preacher if, You wish Sister "Talk-a-lot" would get caught in her own mouthtrap. You might be a preacher if, You've though about offering Starbucks coffee to attract new attendees. You might be a preacher if, You've anonymously telephone your church's own dial-a-prayer line. You might be a preacher if, You've ever wanted to make French fries out of some of your pew potatoes. You might be a preacher if, You feel like a nonprophet organization. You might be a preacher if, "Annual Church Meeting" and "Armageddon" are one in the same to you. You might be a preacher if, You use the pray as you go plan. But once again, the simplest way to know that you're a preacher is when you would live your life over again and do the same things, face the same struggles, study your brains out, and work one thousand hours a week, all for half the pay and recognition you now get. That's when you know for sure you're a preacher. Written By: Stan Toler and Mark Toler- Hollingsworth
