"Audience Of One"
Coffee With Pat Boy, has the weather been hot. Now I should have said very warm. I remember when churches did not have air conditioning. I was about 13 years old, and we lived in Cusseta, Georgia. I came out of Sunday School and said to my mother who was sitting with her friends in the sanctuary, boy am I hot. She let me know quickly, I was not hot. That ladies say they are warm. Boy, have times changed. Today children from 1 - 100, say what they want, when they want, no matter how it sounds. Even newborns tells us what they need by the crying. Ask any mother, and they will tell you that they know the difference to their baby's cry. One cry is I'm wet, another I'm hungry, another I am sick, and another I just want you to hold and love me. You know, God is the same way, He speaks to us daily and tells us that He longs for our companionship, our praise and our love. "Start your day in the presence of God. Enter into His sanctuary singing praises to our Lord and King." (Psalm 95:1-7) says, "O come let us sing unto the Lord, let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth, the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our maker, For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. To day if you will hear his voice." It is our duty to praise God. When we do not praise Him, we miss out on so many blessings. God has said, that He will bless His children. There is a song out now, called "Audience Of One" Written By: Barry Collecutt. I’m singing for an audience of One, The world it fades away, as I gaze upon Your face. You can go to this link and hear the song and many more praise songs. http://freepraiseandworship.org/index.html I feel this song really tells a message of what true praise is all about. It is when we can enter into the enter court, the sanctuary, and be along with God. When we can say, "God, I am singing praises just to You. You are my only audience. My heart and mine is only on your Lord. I am not putting on a show for the world, but giving my entire being to You. I am giving You honor and praise today Lord." Now let me tell you, that there are times that I do not feel like praising God. I have even went to church and did not praise Him. I missed out on so many blessing those times. But when I have praised God and lifted my hands and heart to Him, even when I did not feel like it, boy was I blessed. A lot of people have trouble praising God. And I know that each person has their own way. Some quietly and some loudly. But some people let pride keep them from opening praising God. The Bible says, "that pride comes before the fall" But when I lift my hands to God I am saying, "God here I am. I am giving you my all. I am not holding anything back. See God knows our cries also. He knows when we are hurting, lonely, scared, and just needing to be loved. So today as God longs for us, let us long for Him. Father God, I praise you, and as you long for my companionship, I long for yours. In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen and Amen
