Devotion 17
Sometimes in our lives we wonder why things just do not seem to go right. We try and try, but always come to a road block. You may even know that God has something special for you but you just seem to never be able to grab the brass ring. Well, today let me tell you in eight words what you need to do. "You need to go back to the Table." You have been feasting on yesterdays bread too long, and because of this you have become stagnant. You need to return to God's table and feast on some new Manna from Heaven. Nutritionists will tell you that when you are trying to lose weight that you must lower you calorie intake. When you do this you will lose weight. But then there may come a time that you stop losing weight. You hit a plateau. You may still be exercising and doing the same thing that made you lose the weight before, but you seem to not be losing anymore weight. They then tell you when this happens you need to increase you calorie intake up from 400-600 calories a day to trick your body into change. In other words you body has gotten use to the old routine and it is just satisfied at where it is, and does not want to change. As you increase your calorie intake you body thinks wow, what is going on, more food, so it will start to burn calories again. Your metabolism will kick back into high gear to start burning the extra calories that you are eating. It is the same way with your spiritual body. When you first get saved you pray and read your Bible. You want to learn everything you can about your new life in Jesus. You are running at full speed. You are filling your spiritual tank each day with new Manna from above. Then all of a sudden life happens and you start to fill yourself with the complication of the world. You run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. Soon the garbage piles up. Why? Because you are feeding less at the table of God. You become stagnant. You seem to be at a stand still, and going no where. You have used all of your spiritual calorie intake, and you just feel awful, depressed, and do not have the energy to do what God has called you to do anymore. Well friends, Go back to the table. You have feasted on yesterday bread too long, and it has run out, so now it time to learn some new things. It is time to seek God for your family and yourselves. As you feast at the table of God, you will soon realize that, hey, I am now going in the right direction. I know what God has called me to do. Hey, life if getting better daily. See, you are adding some new calories to you spiritual diet. Calories of wisdom, knowledge, understanding, common sense, and now you are able to comprehend exactly what God is saying to you. So, friends go back to the table, read your Bible. Pray and Spend time with you Heavenly Father and see your life change and grow in the Lord. John 6:22-35The

Law of the Garbage Truck
Author Unknown One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly. So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!' This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.' He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets. The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so....Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't. Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it! So friends, go back to the table and give God your garbage. He knows what to do with it.
Then start feasting on His
