What Will You Leave as Legacy?
![]()
I have been thinking about family
today. My mama loved flowers and as you can see these wild petunias are
growing and taking over the pot they were planted in. Yes, there is a big
pot underneath the flowers. They are coming up everywhere, in the cement
cracks around the house, just about everywhere.
And she shared them with everyone who
wanted to take some home with them. And if you talk to them they will tell
you that this year, they have come back and are taking over everything.
That is the way our parents taught
us. They taught us that we should show love, and that our love should be so
strong that it takes over everyone we meet. That when a person leaves from
being around us that they should feel good about themselves to the point
that they turn around and show love to someone else. That our love should
multiply, just like those petunias do.
Last year when my mama made her
Heavenly Journey Home all of her family were there to celebrate her life. I
can say, we were blessed, and mama was blessed to have all her children,
grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great grand children to come
together for her Home going Celebration. It was the same way when our daddy
made His journey home. They had 7 children, 18 grandchildren, 25 great
grandchildren, and 9 great great grand children with 2 more on the way.
(Note: I am sure there are some I did not count,
because they are coming faster than my brain can count.) LOL
At Mama's Celebration all of them
were there except one grandchild whom was very sick, 3 great grandsons that
were in Iraq, an 7 great grand children, and 3 great great grandchildren.
And the ones that were there had
their spouses and all their children there, and the ones who could not come
were very upset and wanted to be there. There was not one of them who had to
make an excuse up why they were not there, they all had real life
circumstances that cause them to not to be able to attend.
In other words there was NO discord
that caused any of them not to show up, and hard feelings that made them not
want to attend. Because we were taught to be a family of love. We may not
always get along, I promise you this, but let something happen to one of us
and we pull and come together like soldiers ready to prepare for war.
Why were they all drawn together?
Because our Parents left us all a Legacy. A Legacy of Love. A Legacy of
Jesus Christ in their Life.
Today I asked you, when you leave
this temporary home, what will you leave behind? What type of Legacy will
you be remembered? Will you be remembered by harsh words that you may have
said, or how you treated people unfairly?
I pray you will be remember as my
Parents' were, people of honestly, love, and goodness.
Only you can answer the questions
above. Is there someone you have falsely accused, or cause hurt to them. Is
so you need to make it right. You need to make sure you are remember by your
heart actions and not your head actions.
I want to be able to say, just as a
song I really love says, "I Will Do Something Visible For The Invisible One.
For That Is What A Christian Should Do."
