I was in that discount store today, that I am sure you each go to at lest once a week. I met a woman about the age of 29. She had no hair. I was not sure if it was because of cancer treatments or what. We got to talking and she soon gave me the information. I cannot remember what she said it was called, but she said God gave it to her for her good. I said if you will write your name down on my ministry card I will put you on The Coffee Time Prayer List. She said thanks, but God knows what He is doing. But I have a cousin that I want you to put on the prayer list. She needs the prayer worse than I do. Again, I did not argue. I just gave her one of my Ministry Cards to keep and one to write her cousins name on. I cannot understand to my life, why people say God gave them a disease, and on top of that, why do they want the disease. Then they have the nerve to say it is for their good. Anyway not for me to question. Just another thing, I will put in God's to do box, to figure out. "I would rather be an imitator of Jesus, then of this world. For then I am assured that I am living a life of righteousness." Pastor Pat Aman "You are writing a gospel, a chapter a day In the things that you do and the words that you say. Men read what you write, whether faithless or true, What is the gospel according to you?" Author Unknown (Ephesians 4:1) "as a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received." (Ephesians 5: 1-2) Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children, and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. (Ephesians 5: 18-20) Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 6: 18-20) A pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should. Growing in Godliness, simply put, Godliness is living the way God want us to. Few books speak as clearly and succinctly to this subject a does the book of Ephesians. Here Godliness is exhorted in terms of behavior, motivation dynamic, and example. Godly behavior is modeled after God Himself, especially as He has revealed Himself in His fullness in Jesus Christ. Understand that your conduct is the most effective sermon you will ever preach. Live a life that will give consistent, undeniable evidence of the truth of the gospel. Model your life after Jesus, imitating Him rather than others. Understand that He is the perfect example of the love God requires. Be continually filled, with the Holy Spirit. Overflow with a continual song of praise and thanksgiving to maintain a Spirit-filled flow in your life. Give yourself to constant, faithful prayer. Let God change your prayer life to a life of prayer. Below is a poem that I have kept, since I was about ten years old. A few years back I found the poem with additional verses that I had not heard. I will also share them with you. I hope you enjoy. Written by Edgar A. Guest "I'd rather see a sermon than hear one any day; I'd rather one should walk with me than merely tell me the way. The eye's a better pupil and more willing the ear, Fine counsel is confusing, but example's always clear. And the best of all the preachers are the men who live their creeds, For to see good put in action is what everybody needs. I soon can learn to do it if you'll let me see it done; I can watch your hands in action, but your tongue too fast may run. And the lecture you deliver may be very wise and true, But I'd rather get my lessons by observing what you do; For I might misunderstand you and the high advice you give, But there's no misunderstanding how you act and how you live. " *** "When I see a deed of kindness, I am eager to be kind. When a weak brother stumbles and a strong man stays behind Just to see if he can help him, then the wish grows strong to me To become as big and thoughtful as I know that friend to be. And all the travelers can witness that the best of guides today Is not the one who tells them, but the one who shows the way. One good man teaches many, men believe what they behold; One deed of kindness noticed is worth forty that are told. Who stands with men of honor learns to hold his honor dear, For right living speaks a language which to everyone is clear; Though an able speaker charms me with his eloquence, I say, I'd rather see a sermon than to hear one any day." ***
