Devotion 6
I pray that each of you had a wonderful
day. We enjoyed celebrating the 4th at our home. We had the first July 4th
cookout for the new church we have planted, "The Agape Lighthouse
Ministries." We had enough food to feed and army. Hot Dogs, Hamburgers,
potato salad, slaw, chili, baked beans, pecan pie, blueberry cobbler,
chocolate cream pie, and homemade banana ice cream. There were also two large
watermelons, but we did not even cut them. We enjoy the fellowship, and we
also enjoyed special music and prayer. God blessed us as we gave praise and
honor to Him.
We also discussed what Independence means
and what it means to have true freedom. We also began to talk about how the
church has let some very important freedoms be taken from us.
In our conversation we all agreed that we
must begin with ourselves in standing up for our rights as people and mostly
Christians.
So, I am going to do a devotion on what
first should take place in our lives as Christian.
Godliness is not inherited. Each individual
must seek out God and establish a personal relationship with Him. Godliness
comes by divine transformation of our hardened or rebellious hearts, not by
self-effort.
Ezekiel 14:15-2015 "Or if I send wild beasts through that country and they leave it childless and it becomes desolate so that no one can pass through it because of the beasts, 16 as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, even if these three men were in it, they could not save their own sons or daughters. They alone would be saved, but the land would be desolate. 17 "Or if I bring a sword against that country and say, 'Let the sword pass throughout the land,' and I kill its men and their animals, 18 as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, even if these three men were in it, they could not save their own sons or daughters. They alone would be saved. 19 "Or if I send a plague into that land and pour out my wrath upon it through bloodshed, killing its men and their animals, 20 as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, even if Noah, Daniel and Job were in it, they could save neither son nor daughter. They would save only themselves by their righteousness. Be assured that you will not be saved by another's righteousness or be judged for another's sin. Ezekiel 36:26-27
26
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from
you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws Understand that God will bring about true transformation among His people by renewing their minds and hearts and filling them with His Spirit. Welcome the exchange of heart and spirit God offers to you. Yield to God's Spirit and receive His law of life in your heart to be truly transformed.
