I cannot keep up with my appointments lately.  If I do not put it in my appointment book, I honestly forget things.  Is that a sign of growing younger (Ha Ha)

Maybe it is just having my course set in too many directions.  What ever the reason may be, I want to make sure that my course is headed for the gates of Heaven.

"What Course Is Your Direction In Life?  Are You Headed For Heaven Or Hell?  The Ores (paddles) Are In Your Hands. " Pastor Pat Aman

In M. Blaine Smith's book, "Knowing God's Will," there is a story of a captain of a ship. It goes something like this,

"One foggy night the captain of a ship saw what appeared to be another ship's running lights approaching in the distance.  The oncoming vessel was evidently on a direct collision course with his own boat.  The captain frantically signaled to it, "Please change your course ten degrees to the east."

The reply came back, blinking through the fog, "You change your course ten degrees to the west."

Furious, the captain shot another message: "I'm a sea captain with thirty-five years' experience. Change your course ten degrees to the east!"

And without delay the signal flashed back, "I'm a seaman fourth class. Change your course ten degrees to the west."

The captain, enraged, knowing they were destined for a terrible crash, beamed another message: "I'm a fifty-ton freighter. Change course."

The simple message flashed back, "I am a lighthouse. You change course."

God has provided for us is a lighthouse: His Word.  He has blessed us with the Scriptures as a rock-solid, immutable testimony to His will and purpose for human life.  The revelation of Scripture is as unchangeable as the nature of God himself, and its guidance is as non-negotiable as the beam of illumination from the lighthouse.

(St. John 3:16-17) says, " For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, so that who ever will believe in Him, shall never die, but have eternal life.  For God sent not His son into the world to condemn the world, but the world through Him, might be saved."

Father God, I  thank you that you let your son die for me and I do have a personal relationship with Jesus.  Help me to keep you word in my heart and my eyes on Heaven.  In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen and Amen
