(Joshua 14:9)
9. So on that day Moses swore to me, 'The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance and that of your children forever, because you have followed the LORD my God wholeheartedly.'
13. Then Joshua blessed Caleb son of Jephunneh and gave him Hebron as his inheritance.
14. So Hebron has belonged to Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite ever since, because he followed the LORD, the God of Israel, wholeheartedly.
Joshua continue to teach God's people to devote themselves completely to the Lord. In a day when so many follow the Lord with only partial devotion. Joshua and Caleb "who wholly followed the Lord" provide challenging examples of the life the Lord honors.
We need to seek the Lord prayerfully for every decision we make. We also need to understand that we cannot consistently make good decisions without His Word and Spirit.
We must follow God wholeheartedly and be devoted to Him. doing so will yield a rich inheritance.
And we need to be careful about faithfully applying God's Word to all of our life, not just portion of it.
In other words follow Him with all of our heart and soul.
