"Oh, Lord, Please Let Me Be The One To Stand In The Gap!
Pastor Pat Aman July 1st, this year is almost half way over. The next few days will be in Honor and Tribute to our Military. Please pray for them. Ezekiel 22:30 30. "I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none. In the verse above God is saying, "If I can only find ONE person, to stand in the gap I will not destroy their land." Just think! One Person! One Person to get down on their knees and pray. Are we as Christians and Americans standing in the gap? In the verses above, God said He had to destroy the land because as a just God, He had to pronounce a penalty on sin. God's penalty for sin wasn't unjust because the people had brought judgment upon themselves by their own sin. In verse in (Ezekiel 22:31) says, "THEIR OWN WAY have I recompensed upon their heads......" This scripture implies that if God could have found someone to stand in the gap and make up the hedge and intercede for the land, He wouldn't have had to bring judgment on the people. John Wesley said, "It seems God can do nothing for humanity unless someone asks Him to do it." WOW! If someone would just ask Him. Think about that! God didn't say we had to go out and try to fight Satan, a defeated foe. These verses say that if God's covenant children would just ask Him to move on the earth, He would hear and answer their prayers. Satan is no match for God! The unsaved people of the world are dominated and ruled by the devil, not God. Therefore, they are destined to have "their own way recompensed upon their heads" unless they hear and receive the truth of the gospel and repent. God looks for those who will boldly ask Him to hold back judgment and give the unsaved more time to repeat and come to the knowledge of the truth. Then it's our responsibility to preach the gospel so people can be saved and teach them their position of authority in Christ over the devil. You see, these are the principles in God's Word on which we are to build doctrines for prayer and for taking cities and nations for God. God watches over His Word to perform it, not doctrines that are built on experiences or isolated texts taken to the extreme. As I was working on the July web-pages I was praying on what to put on the site. I received a e-mail a few days ago with pictures of our soldiers in Iraq. God told me that a lot of people have become numb to the war. The news is viewed as a movie. Oh, my, what a shame. War is real. Death is real. Our Freedom is real, only because of those brave men and women who are willing to give their lives so we might have life. Just do not let the next few days be when we celebrate and give honor to our soldiers. We need to give thanks and honor 12 months out of the year.
