Jeanne Robertson - Humor and More

Former Vermont House Representative Henry Lawrence Gray, 82, (pictured on right) is retired and now resides in Angier. Mr. Gray is legally blind and found he could
keep up with politics by using Adapt Incorporate owner Shelah Ogletree (photo left) as his eyes and ears. “She takes good care of me – just as if she were my own daughter,” Mr.
Gray said. “My own daughter feels better knowing I have someone I can depend upon.”
Just Like Your Own Daughter
Helping you stay at home - That’s the main goal of the
friendly local ladies from Adapt Incorporated of Dunn. These ladies are serious about helping seniors live a cheerful, comfortable life in their own homes. Cooking, cleaning,
organizing, transportation, sitting, or help with mobilization. Whether you need help getting a hot meal, or transferring from a wheelchair these ladies get the job done. Their $12
per hour fee provides low-cost care, receipts for tax deductible services and freedom from handling employee and payroll issues. “I never have to worry - Marsha will be here every
morning,” said Mrs. Hazel Barnes of Coats. “She drives me where I need to go and she never leaves my side.” On the rare occasion when her regular caregiver is unavailable Shelah
sends another helper Mrs. Barnes has met previously and likes. She always calls beforehand to let her know. We don’t know of another senior service that provides such thoughtful
care. These ladies are local, dependable and well-respected in their communities. Maybe you may already know Marsha Tart of Newton Grove, Ann Ennis, Annette Barfield, Ruth Hope
Barfield Morris, or Wanda Lee of Dunn. If you feel a little funny about having one of these helpers in your home call Shelah at 910-988-2989 or 910-892-5185 ask for the name and number
of a satisfied neighbor near you and you’ll get a great reference.
Veterans who served at least 90 days during a time of war and your Spouses may be eligible for reimbursement for an Adapt caregiver if you make $30,000 or less
yearly and have less than $80,000 savings in the bank. Your home does not count against you. The reimbursement is distributed under a little known program called Aid & Attendance
with Improved Pension. A Veteran is eligible for up to $1,704 per month, while a surviving spouse is eligible for up to $1,094 per month. A Veteran with a Spouse is eligible for up
to $2,020 per month and a Veteran with a Sick Spouse is eligible for up to $1,338 per month Adapt helps their customers file for this benefit for free, provides invoices for the
reimbursement and will contact a United States Senator on your behalf.
