"A New Life"

A NEW LIFE “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10: 10 King James Version.

I saw a commercial on television several years ago and it promised a new life if people purchased their product. That is false advertising because only Jesus can give new life.

Without the precious atoning blood of the Christ of Calvary applied to our hearts, our lives are meaningless and empty. We may have big homes, three cars, a swimming pool and a yacht, but our possessions are only temporary. We have become a world that measures success on material possessions and how many clubs we have joined. Last year, I read a biography of a person who is well known. It listed so many accomplishments that I had to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. In that long list of credits, there was no mention of this person listed in the Book of Life.

If our names aren’t written in the Book of Life, all the clubs we join and all the things we have done in our life mean nothing. We may give money to the poor and visit people in the hospital but if we haven’t accepted Jesus as our Saviour, all of this means nothing. All of these are wonderful things and Jesus has told us to do them but there must be a time in our lives when we confess that we are sinners.

We must ask Him to forgive us and come into our hearts and be our personal Saviour. Have you made a heart commitment to the Christ of Calvary?  If not, I urge you to invite Him into your heart. Do it now before it’s too late because none of us know how much longer we have to live. Written
