Devotion February 5
"Don't Sweat The Small Stuff" I have a praise report, or maybe Joe has one. He is worst than a young-in, about getting a hair cut. For some reason he just does not take the time, or want too. I remember his mother telling me that she had to get a fly swatter every time she took him to get a hair cut. Maybe that is the reason. Ha Ha So guess what, I have been cutting his hair. I do not like doing it, because I usually mess up. He never says anything, but tonight my prayers have been answered. The clippers broke while I was cutting the back of his hair. I usually never have trouble with the back, but I did not know that the spring that holds the blades together was broken. Well, now he has no hair in one spot. I tried to straighten it out, but could not do a good job. I told him he needed to go have someone shorten the top, so it would look more even with the back. He said there is no hair in the back to work with. That he will have to wait a month or so, before he can do that. I was talking to my mama about it and Joe actually said it was probably a blessing that they broke. AMEN to that. Maybe now he will take the time to go to the barber shop. (Right K.C.)? Anyway we have had a good laugh over it. Yes, laugh, we did not fuss. We learned not to sweat the small stuff. They are not important. Matthew 6: 25, 31-34, "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; not about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?" "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we wear?' For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." Let God sweat the little and big things for you. He will take care of them better than we can.
