Today's devotion was sent to me by a friend. I
thought I would share with you, because there are so many times in our lives
that we do let the Why not's and the what if's keep us from reaching our full
potential in our lives and in the Ministry.
Matthew 10
29Are not two
sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart
from the will of your Father.
30And even the very
hairs of your head are all numbered.
31So
don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
32"Whoever
acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in
heaven.
33But whoever disowns me
before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.

Devotion 3
"Jesus Has A Sense Of Humor"
I love Sunday, going to church and fellowshipping with others. Then we come home and maybe get to relax in the recliner. It seems like that little nap in that old recliner is the best sleep you have ever had. Our Sunday's is usually doing work around the house after church, since we moved. Maybe one day I will be able to park my car in the garage. We are still unpacking things, and putting items in the storage area. I do think that Joe is beginning to see the light at the end of the road. He actually told me last week, he sees my car parked in the garage. Now that is what I called believing by faith. Mark 11:24, "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them." As you can see, Joe is standing on that scripture for sure. Boy!, it sure is fun to be a Christian, and be able to joke and have fun. Anyway, let me get to the devotion, even thought what I just wrote is really a devotion in itself. When I read the scripture below, I wondered if Jesus was laughing to himself. In other words He was probably thinking, "Right", if you think Herod can get me, he better think twice. I can see Him looking at his disciples and grinning and saying who does he think he is. Then walking off shaking His head, laughing and thinking to Himself, and saying, "just wait." Luke 13: 31- 32, "On that very day some Pharisees came, saying to Him, "Get out and depart from here, for Herod wants to kill You." And He said to them, "Go tell that fox, 'Behold I cast out demons and perform cures, today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected." Did you get that, Jesus called Herod and old fox. See, even Jesus had a sense of humor. Praise God! Jesus knew who He was and who His Father was, so why worry about what Herod wanted to do. He also knew why He was sent to earth and what His mission was to be. Did He worry? No. He just went about His Father's business. Do you think Jesus and His disciples never had fun? Did they just walk around with long faces all the time. No, they laughed and joked and had a lot of fun. As Christians we should do the same. If I were a sinner and went to some churches, I would never go back. Why would I want to be sad looking all the time. I thank God above that I am not some of the frozen chosen, but I am made in the image of my Heavenly Father. And by George, He has a sense of Humor. Have some fun this week and see if there is not a change in you and the people around you. Joyfully, In The Master's
