"Get Out Of The Boat!"
I was thinking about the scriptures below. Read them, and then I will share my opinion. Have a wonderful day in the Lord. Jesus Walks on the Sea. 22 Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. 23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. 24 But the boat was now in the middle of the sea,[a] tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. 25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. 27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” 28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous,[b] he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. 33 Then those who were in the boat came and[c] worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.” Footnotes: Matthew 14:24 NU-Text reads many furlongs away from the land. Matthew 14:30 NU-Text brackets that and boisterous as disputed. Matthew 14:33 NU-Text omits came and. Pat's Opinion: Has God ever given you something to do, and you were so comfortable at where you were, that you did not step out in faith? Here, Peter took a step of faith. If he had stayed in the boat, all he would have met was the disciples. He stepped out into the water, and he met Jesus. He did lose faith when he saw the storm, but Jesus reached out His hand to Peter, and lifted him up. Peter could have stayed in the boat. (the place you may be now) God has told you that you need to move, or go in a different direction, but you are afraid. You like it where you are now. The people are nice and friendly. You have gotten comfortable. Why take a chance? Even though you know that your ministry is not the same as it used to be. You have lost your zeal! Do like Peter did, and step out of the boat. Meet Jesus. When you step out, it will be hard at first. You will be doing something different. You will be taking on a new responsibility. You may even make some mistakes. Your faith, as Peter's, may even weaken, but I can guarantee that when you start to fall, Jesus will take you by the hand and lift you up. So instead of staying in the boat and just meeting the disciples, step out and meet Jesus, and the new assignment He has for you. WOW! You should be excited. Joyfully, In The Master's
Service
