Devotion 8

I would like to thank Joanne for her devotion, and her devotion to God.
The word devotion has two meanings:
1. profound dedication; consecration.
2. earnest attachment to a cause, person, etc.
3. an assignment or appropriation to any purpose, cause, etc.: the devotion of one's wealth and time to scientific advancement.
4.
Often, devotions. Ecclesiastical. religious observance or worship; a form of prayer or worship for special use.

In other words a commitment to someone or something. For example, I have made friends through the years, and even though we maybe miles apart now, they know that I am devoted to them. Why? Because I have chosen not to let satan or the gates of hell prevail. I will stand by them though thick and thin.  Now we may not always agree, but I will never let satan take a friend from me. Friends are special gifts from God. Why would I want to give a friend back and miss the blessing of my life? Why would you?

The second meaning is religious study. A way we can worship God and grow in Him. As I Praise God and study the scriptures I grow in faith. I learn of the mercies and grace of God.
Why would I not want to recieve more faith? Why would you?

Now that I have preach a little enjoy the devotion below written by Joanne Lowe>
Blessings To Each Of You,

THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU

“But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.”

Matthew 9: 36

King James Version

I saw a family program today on television.  At the conclusion of the show, it showed a little girl saying to Santa Claus “Thank you for being you”.  I immediately said to Jesus “Thank You for being You”.  There are many times in our lives that if it were not for Jesus and His unconditional love, we would be sinking without a lifeboat.  He is our lifeboat during the storms of life.

There are times in our lives when trials and heartaches overwhelm us and we can’t go another step or give another smile.  Many times we hide our pain and despair from our loved ones and friends.  Jesus can see into the hidden corners of our hearts and He sees and feels the horror and pain we keep locked inside.  He hurts when we hurt.

Thank You, Jesus for being a friend who is always with us.  You never leave us, not even for a minute.  When we fail You, in Your loving mercy and kindness, You forgive us and whisper softly to our hearts “I Love you”.  You are the beautiful Rose of Sharon.  You are the Sonshine of our hearts.  You take our hand and walk beside us to encourage us.  You go before and behind us to protect us.  I say again, “Thank You for being You”.

Do you know Jesus?  You may be saved, but do you really know Him?  Do you know what makes Him happy and what makes Him sad?  It is impossible to put into words the love that He has for you.  He loves you so much that He died for you.  If you have never asked Him into your heart to be your Saviour, please don’t wait another minute as you may not have another minute.
