![]() ![]() Godly Relationships.
Hello Everyone, God bless each of you. Please check out the December Monthly Feature on the Coffee With Pat Web Site. I have written a Christmas Poem for the December feature. I want to thank Dot McEntire for sharing with me the wonderful graphics for this page. Please check out all of Dot's graphics by clicking on her name at the bottom of the Monthly Feature Page. Tonight we are going to finished up the study on Colossians. It is about Godly Relationships. During the Christmas Season we should choose Godly love and peace to be in all our relationships. (Colossians 3: 5 - 11) 5. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10. and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11. Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. To have a Godly relationship we must reject, turn from, and refuse to practice any form of relational unrighteousness or sin; wrong sexual activity, angry exchanges, jealous or envious attitudes, greedy desire for things, gossip, or coarse humor. (Colossians 3: 12 - 14) 12. Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. We must adopt and practice diligently every form of relational righteousness; love, compassion, humble attitudes, self-giving behavior, freely flowing forgiveness, and patience with others. (Colossians 3: 15) 15. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Choose peace to govern all of your relationships. All Human relationships were designed to be fueled and filled by righteous or fulfilling relationships. To the degree we practice those things. God commands, our relationships will become a sampling of heaven on Earth. Scripture: The NIV Bible Devotional Notes: The New King James Version Bible
