"Seven Things God Hates"
Coffee With Pat Commitment. What is Commitment? Commitment giving your all to something, even though know one give is going to give you recognition. David in the Bible was so commitment to God, that he knew even when he fail that God would lift him up. David was commitment to God, that even when Saul became jealous and tried to kill him. He was committed. David so was committed to God, that when he had Saul corner in the cave and drew his sword and cut Saul's skirt off, he then fell to his knees and said, "Saul I will not touch you, for you are God's anointed." (1 Chronicles 16:22) 22. "Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm." Yes, Saul was at one time a man of God. Saul was called of God, he was God's anointed. Then Saul let satan come in and take over his life through the spirit of jealousy, but that did not stop him from being God's anointed. And David knew this. David knew that if he killed Saul, or cursed Saul that God would bring the curse back upon him, (David) for Saul was God's anointed. (1 Samuel 24:4-10) 4. The men said, "This is the day the LORD spoke of when he said to you, 'I will give your enemy into your hands for you to deal with as you wish.' " Then David crept up unnoticed and cut off a corner of Saul's robe. 5. Afterward, David was conscience-stricken for having cut off a corner of his robe. 6. He said to his men, "The LORD forbid that I should do such a thing to my master, the Lord's anointed, or lift my hand against him; for he is the anointed of the LORD." 7. With these words David rebuked his men and did not allow them to attack Saul. And Saul left the cave and went his way. 8. Then David went out of the cave and called out to Saul, "My lord the king!" When Saul looked behind him, David bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground. 9. He said to Saul, "Why do you listen when men say, 'David is bent on harming you'? 10. This day you have seen with your own eyes how the LORD delivered you into my hands in the cave. Some urged me to kill you, but I spared you; I said, 'I will not lift my hand against my master, because he is the Lord's anointed.' We as Christians need to become this committed. We also need to recognize that God's Work is a serious commitment. We also need to realize that when God has called his anointed to do his work, that we do not need to go against the called man or woman of God. God tells us in His word that if we say or speak anything bad on these people that God will then bless the people He has called, and bring the curse back upon the person who spoke it. I have know people who will say one thing to you, and another to someone else. My mama always said, "If someone will talk to you about someone else, that they will talk to someone else about you. Friends it is time to stop playing church. It is time for the gossip and backbiting to stop. It is time to win lost souls who are bound for hell. We do not have time to have pity parties, and cause confusion among God's people. In the churches and ministries of God there is so much junk going on it has become an abomination to God. And God's hand of judgment is going to take care of business, if we as Christians do not get off our backsides and begin to take care of the business that God has called us into. (Reaching the Lost World for Christ) I am going to end with the scriptures below. I am going to put the NIV and The King James. They say, "there are six things the Lord HATES, but the seventh is an ABOMINATION to him, and that is someone who is sowing discord among the brethren." In other words God gets sick and tired of people playing games with people. He gets sick and tired of people being two faced. I started to apologize for this devotion, but God said, "NO." He said, "it is about is about time someone stood up and preach the word as it is written." Please read the verses below, and then if you need to ask God or someone else to forgive you, I think you should do it now. I would hate to be in your place if you have talked against the man or woman of God. (Proverbs 6:16-19) (King James Version) 16. These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17. 1. A proud look, 2.a lying tongue, and 3. hands that shed innocent blood, 18. 4. An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, 5. feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19. 6. A false witness that speaketh lies, and 7. he that soweth discord among brethren. (Proverbs 6:16-19 New International Version 16. There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17. 1. haughty eyes, 2. a lying tongue, 3. hands that shed innocent blood, 18. 4.a heart that devises wicked schemes, 5. feet that are quick to rush into evil, 19. 6. a false witness who pours out lies and 7. a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.
