Genesis 29: 18, 20 King James Version “And Jacob loved Rachel; and said, I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter. And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her.” What a beautiful love story! Jacob loved Rachel so much that he was willing to serve her dad for seven years and it only seemed a few days to him. We should love Jesus a lot more than Jacob loved Rachel. O’ that we would love our Savior and serve Him willingly, instead of serving Him because it is expected. There are twenty four hours in a day. How many hours do we dedicate to Jesus every day, and how many hours do we keep for ourselves? If we are watching television more hours in a day than we are serving Him, we are breaking His heart. There’s nothing wrong with watching television unless we watch it before we spend time with Him. Also, we shouldn’t watch any program that we wouldn’t watch with Him sitting next to us. When Jesus was here on earth, His first priority was to serve His Father. If it were possible to count the hours that He spent in service to His Father, we would understand how much He Loves us. Jesus did not have to leave Heaven and suffer such agony and heartache on the cross. God did not throw Him out of Heaven. He left willingly out of obedience to His Father, and love for us. How many hours a day do you spend with Jesus and in service to Him? Have you dedicated your life, time, talents, and everything you have to Jesus? Does He know that you love Him? We may say we love Him, but He knows our hearts. Written By: Joanne Lowe
