Devotion 27
"Your Speaking So Loud That I Cannot Understand You!"
Coffee With Pat Tonight's devotion come from the Book "How To Be A Christian And Enjoy Life: By: Fritz Ridenour. Everyone should read this book. Christians today, have forgot how to laugh and have a good time. When the world sees our sour faces, do you think they want what we have? I sure would not. It is time we learned to be happy in the Lord, and continually learn to act as children who are blessed. You know that your Father God, owns on the cattle on all those hills. And we are His children and it is our inheritance. So be happy, and thank God for your life and blessings. Let the secular world see the happiness of Jesus in your life. (Philippians 1: 3-4, 11) "1. I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, 2. always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy." 11.being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God." Now The Text From The Book The old saying has it that, "What you do speak so loudly I can't hear what you say." The Apostle Paul isn't credited with making this remark, but I'm sure he would have agreed with it. To read any of Paul's Epistles letters, is to take a course in Christian values. Paul taught doctrine, what Christians believe, but he always went beyond beliefs, to values, how Christian should act and live. Paul never confused beliefs with values; he blended them. for Paul, a value was a principle or belief that was so important it actually affected what he did, how he lived. Paul was someone who lived from the inside out. If our beliefs are inside, and truly a part of us, they will come out, sooner or later. for example, we say we believe in love, but when and where do we act lovingly? We say we believe in commitment, but do we show up on time, if at all? Turning our beliefs into actual values, things we do, is not something we learn in one lesson, or even one life time. It's a process of growth toward godliness that includes: 1. Discovering (or getting taught) what is important. Learning principles, morals, doctrines, beliefs. 2. Learning to make these beliefs part of you and your personality, who you are. 3. Choosing from many daily opportunities to act on these beliefs. 4. Living from the inside out, doing what you say you believe to be true. Quotes For Life Values Speak Louder Than Words What you believe,is what you will live. God's eternal truths do not change with each passing fad or philosophy. Have Joy, and be happy. Joy lies in living our values from the inside out. Do you reach out, or take in. When life gives you lemons, what do you do? Instead of bemoaning what life is doing to you, remember all the things God is doing for you. The love bank never closes. It is always open, and always in need of deposits and always ready to dispense withdrawals. It is from God's infinite love bank that we get the deposits we need to keep us going. One of the greatest helps in fulfilling any commitment is to tell your friends about what you're trying to do. Once you've announced your intention, its hard to turn back. Commitments keeps us going. A key to running the Christian race with perseverance is to fix your eyes on Jesus, and none other.
