"Do Not Change The Message, Just The Presentation"
Coffee With Pat Can you believe it is already August 1st. It is only 152 days until New years Day, 2007. This year has flown by. So again, I will ask you. What have you done for Jesus so for this year? "Don't change the message, just change the presentation of the message." Pastor Pat Aman Matthew 5: 17-20 17."Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. We need to understand that Jesus' ministry fulfilled the Law, it did not abolish it. Thus be warned that those who teach lawlessness will not be great in the kingdom. There are churches today that are living under the law and do not realize it. They are living the law of religious tradition as a substitute for God's Word. This is a new day and time. We must listen to the Holy Spirit as He speaks to us. We must make changes. Changes that will reach the lost and dying world. Our Great Grand Fathers preach a certain way, their Great Grand Fathers preached a certain way and so on and so on. They did not change the message, just the way the message was presented. We must as Christians stop warming a pew, and get out of our comfort zone. We must boldly confess Jesus before others; and we need to realize that Jesus will acknowledge us before the Father. I have visited several churches while on vacation and in my traveling. In the churches where there are under 100, I see very few young people. Why? Because the church refuses to change with the times. Remember do not change the message, but change it presentation. That is why the larger churches are seeing more youth. They realize that change has to be made to reach our youth. That is the reason they are larger churches. They let go of religious traditions and got off of the pew, and went to work for God. The realized that change had to be made to reach the lost. Joyfully, In The Master's Service Blessings, Prayers and Love, Pastor Pat Aman Scripture: The NIV Bible Study Notes: The New King James Version Quote: Pastor Pat Aman
