Cali Leaving for California

Hey, where are we going? What kind of place is this? Is that man nice?

Well, folks, after 4 months Cali has now gone to California. Her mom, Anna Aman, DVM flew to North Carolina and they met for the first time and fell in love with each other.  It took Cali no time at all to realize that Anna was going to be the best mom in the world.

So, you are my new mom?     I am pretty sure I am going to like you!     No doubt about it, I like you!

Yes, after Cali spent the first few months of her life with Joe and myself, she finally made it to California.  She and Anna bonded from the time Anna got off the airplane. But Cali began to wonder what was going on around the house. Yes, this new person had shown up and started taking the place of her human grandma. But, Cali thought, well this person seem to be alright so I will listen to her and be very nice.

But then one morning things started to change for Cali. This new person was packing her suitcase, and also putting Cali's doggie toys in that suitcase.  Cali began to wonder what was happening here. She started thinking, I do not see my grandma Pat packing, but she is helping this new person that says she is my human mom pack food, clothes and all of my toys.  I must be going somewhere! They have even put a pretty red vest on me, but I think I will go to my kennel and think about this situation.

Let me think about this.......

Has God ever told you to do something, and you knew it was exactly the right thing to do, but you thought you needed to pray and think about it a little more?  I think sometimes we use prayer to prolong the event.

We need to be more like Abraham and Moses. When God tells us to go, just pack our bags and go. Stop using the excuse, I need to pray a little more, to put off the evident.

We at times cause ourselves pain and hardship because we want to do it our way and not God's way. When if we had just listened to God the first time, we would have already received the blessings that God had for us.

Exodus 33:1

Then the LORD said to Moses, "Leave this place, you and the people you brought up out of Egypt, and go up to the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, saying, 'I will give it to your descendants.'

Genesis 12: 1- 3

1 The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you.

2 "I will make you into a great nation
       and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.

3 I will bless those who bless you,
       and whoever curses you I will curse;
       and all peoples on earth
       will be blessed through you."

As Cali wondered what was happening, she soon realized that she was in fact going somewhere today. So she decided, you know I better get ready. I better make sure that my new mom Anna packed all my things, including my food and treats.

Okay, no toys behind my kennel.   Can I take this treat with me?

After they packed, we loaded the car to go to the airport. We prayed for Anna and Cali's safe trip and that Cali would be a good puppy on the plane and remember all of her commands as a service dog.

See, Cali was going to get to ride on the inside of the plane with Anna. She would sit at Anna's feet, or in the seat next to Anna, if a seat was available.  Folks, this doggie was not going cargo, but as a service dog, she would be right beside her mom.

We arrived at the airport and Joe decided to go in and help Anna with her bag and Cali.  Because this was Cali's first flight, we did not know how she would react.  We soon found out that Cali was a pro at this, or at less she was putting on a good show, making us believe she was.

I am okay, there is my bag with my toys.  Is that a nice woman? Hey she is taking my bag!

Well, Cali did well, and even walked through security passing all the tests. So far, so good. Because she had her service vest on, people knew not to go up to her, but first ask Anna if they could pet her. Everyone did want to pet her, because she is such a sweet puppy.

This has a nice shiny floor. Can I potty?  Who is this man? Does he have my bag? What are you giving him?  Is he going to drive the plane?  Sir, may I see your pilot's license?

Now they made it on the plane.  At this point Cali is beginning to wonder again, what is this, and am I in the right place?  Are you sure I am supposed to get on this thing?  Where is my grandma. Help me!

Hey mom, is the a good place? Where is my grandma Pat?

Yes, there are times in all of our lives that we wonder, God, are you sure I was supposed to do this thing? Did I listen and go in the right direction? See, satan will continue to work to try to stop us from doing what God wants us to do. Even when we are in the right place, he will try to put confusion or questions in our mind.  This is when we need to sit at the feet of God, and know that we are right where we need to be. Satan only tells lies.  So if he is telling us that we are not doing right, that is the first sign that we should know, without a doubt, that we are right where we belong. If not, satan would not continue to put doubt and confusion in our minds.

We should have the faith to know that we are right where we belong, and settle down and do the work God has for us to do.

Cali finally settled down after Anna talked to her. Anna let her know that they were alright, and she was safe and secure.

Okay, I will sleep now. My mom told me everything is okay.      Cali and Anna's airplane taking off.

Cali and Anna changed planes in Dallas. Cali thought they were in California, but Anna explained they had to change planes.  By now Cali had settled in and really become a pro at this flying thing.

Hey, this thing is moving while I am walking! Did you say we were getting on another airplane. Oh, I like this plane better. I have my own seat beside my mom. I think I will curl up and go to sleep. Oh, how sweet it is, my toy, my blanket, and my mom.

Anyway, Cali and Anna arrived in California, and they are settling in as a family. Oh, Cali made sure she got her bag back. She was not going to lose her toys.

Where is my bag? They better not have lost my toys. Oh man, I have jet lag!   My legs feel funny now that we are on the ground.

This is California?  I am not impressed!       Okay, where is the grass?              Where are we going now?

Oh, I think I like it here. The accommodations are so nice.

See, when we listen to God, as Cali listened to Anna, we soon find out that everything will be okay. If we put our lives in God's hands, as Cali put her life in Anna's hands, we will soon find out that we can rest in the peace of knowing that everything will always work out as God has planned for us. We will rest in the comfort of God's love and peace.

"Jesus Took The Stripes So We Could Be Healed"

We get so busy with our everyday lives, that we seem to forget what Jesus went through for you and me.

Since this devotion I have seen the movie. The man who played Jesus was still able to be recognized as a man. The Bible tells us that Jesus was not even able to be recognized as a man or human being. So if people think that this movie showed what Jesus went through they are mistaken. Jesus went through 10,000 times more pain, the what is shown in this movie.

Also this time because of BibleGateWay, I was able to revise and show you all the scriptures, instead of giving them to you and asking you to look them up. I hope that you are enjoying using BibleGateWay from my web-site, for your Bible Studies.

"Jesus died for you. What have you done for Him?" Pastor Pat Aman

"Pat's Opinion"

The movie "Passions of Christ" I have heard people say that it is not true. That they could not have done that to Jesus. Well, they did. If the world would have open their Bibles up and read them, they would see, that it is what happen to Jesus. It is a shame that it takes a movie, to show us how they treated Christ. But if that is what it takes, I pray that we all, will realized, what Christ did for us.

(Isaiah 53:5) says, "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

(I Peter 2:24) says, "Who his own self bare our sins, in His own body on a tree, that we being dead to sins, should live into righteous; by whose stripes we are healed."

(Matthew 27: 22-29) Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified. And the governor said, "Why what evil had he done?" But they cried out the more, saying Let him be crucified. When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person; see ye to it. Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children. Then released he Barabbas unto them, and when he had scourged Jesus he deliver him to be crucified. Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. And they stripped him and put on him a scarlet robe. And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in his right hand; and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail King of the Jews."

Now let me explained about a scourging. A beating. A scourge was a Roman implement for severe bodily punishment. It consisted of a handle with about a dozen leather cords with jagged pieces of bone one or metal at each end to make the blow more painful and effective. The victim was tied to a post and the blows were applied to the bare back and loins and sometimes to the face and bowels. The flesh was cut in several places by each blow. So hideous was the punishment that the victim often fainted and some died under it. It was designed to get confessions and secrets from its victims, but what could they get from an innocent sinless one.

( Acts 22:24-25) the commander ordered him to be brought into the barracks, and said that he should be examined under scourging, so that he might know why they shouted so against him. And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said to the centurion who stood by, “Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is a Roman, and uncondemned?”

Flogging was permitted by law up to 40 stripes. Jews reduced this to 39 stripes.

( Deuteronomy 25:3) Forty blows he may give him and no more, lest he should exceed this and beat him with many blows above these, and your brother be humiliated in your sight.

If the scourge used on Jesus had 12 thongs and He was hit and even 39 times, this would make 468 stripes. (By the way, there are 468 known diseases in the world. Remember it said by whom stripes we are healed in

(Isaiah 53:5) But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

If some cut in the same place and cut deeper, one can see how His body, because of the intense hatred back each blow, was marred more than any other man.

( Isaiah 52:14) Just as many were astonished at you, So His visage was marred more than any man, And His form more than the sons of men.

Death by crucifixion was one of the most cruel and shameful deaths that could be devised. It is supposed to have been invented by Semiramis, queen of Nimtod, who founded the Babylonian system of mysteries. It was a Roman practice inflicted only upon slaves and the worst criminals. The person was nailed to the cross, each hand extended to the utmost stretch. The feet were nailed together, and then the cross was lifted and dropped into the hole with a violent thud which disjointed the whole body. The weight of the body hung on nails through the hands and feet. A victim was left on the cross until he died of pain and untold sufferings.

(Mark 14:65) says, "And some began to spit on Him, and to cover His face, and to buffet Him, and to say unto Him, Prophesy, and the servants did strike Him with the palms of their hands."

I could type many other scriptures, Please read them in your Bible.

(Luke 22:44,63)  And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Now the men who held Jesus mocked Him and beat Him.

(Luke 23:36), The soldiers also mocked Him, coming and offering Him sour wine,

(Mark 14:65),Then some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him, and to say to Him, “Prophesy!” And the officers struck Him with the palms of their hands.

(John 18: 4-8) Jesus therefore, knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward and said to them, “Whom are you seeking?”  They answered Him, “Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus said to them, “I am He.” And Judas, who betrayed Him, also stood with them. Now when He said to them, “I am He,” they drew back and fell to the ground.  Then He asked them again, “Whom are you seeking?” And they said, “Jesus of Nazareth.”  Jesus answered, “I have told you that I am He. Therefore, if you seek Me, let these go their way,”

(John 19:17) And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha,

All of these scriptures, tells us exactly what Jesus did for us. The humiliation, the pain, the agony, He went through us for us. Jesus did this for us. The Bible says, that Jesus was so beaten that He could not even be recognized as a human being. He gave himself for us freely. He died so that we could live. Before his death on the cross, he went to the Garden of Gethsemane and prayed. "Father not my will, but yours be done." It said His sweat was as drops of blood. Yes, if it takes a movie to show us these things, well, let it be done. But, if we would read our Bibles daily, we would see for ourselves what Jesus did for us. The promises He gives us as His children. The love He has for us. And by whose stripes we are healed.
