Devotion 26
(II
Chronicles 20:20)
20. "So
they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as
they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, "Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants
of Jerusalem; believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established;
believe His prophets, and you shall prosper."
Faith is rooted in
a trust in God's witness in Scripture as illuminated by His Holy Spirit.
Consequently, to grow in faith one must continually choose to receive and
believe the witness of Scripture and become loyal to it.
Develop spiritual
20/20 vision. Choose to believe the Bible as the absolute Word of God.
Rely upon its
witness to God's nature, character, and promises. Believe the words of those who
proclaim God's Word.
Trust prophetic
"words" brought by godly men and women.
Employ and
believe in praise as a mighty, effectual spiritual weapon.
When your children
were young an asked, where is God? Why is the sky Blue? What did you
say?
When you gave them
the answer, they believed without hesitation. Child like faith. WOW! That is
all we need.
God's Word is
truth as the scriptures promise: "believe in the Lord your
God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall
prosper."
