I Chronicles 10:13, "So Saul died for his unfaithfulness which he had committed against the Lord, because he did not keep the word of the Lord, and also because he consulted a medium for guidance. But he did not inquire of the Lord; therefore He killed him and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse."

How many people do you hear say, "I do not believe in horoscopes, I just read them to laugh, or see what the devil's up to.  Now I am talking church going Christians, who praise God on Sunday and read the horoscopes on Monday.  I don't know about you, but I do not want to give the devil any more ideas then he already comes up with himself.  Now don't deny it, I at one time have done it also.  You know, you are at the doctor's office or waiting on someone, and you pick a magazine up and it opens to the horoscope page and you read it before you realize what you have done. 

Well, I want to tell you I have read this verse before, but this time it hit me.  A medium is someone who does witchcraft. Someone who lives an occult lifestyle. When you read horoscopes, you are opening yourself and your family up to satan and all his demons of hell.

Look, did you read what happen to Saul?  Let's talk about growing in Godliness for a few minutes. Godliness means being faithful to God in all that we do.  Faithfulness involves letting God and His Word be our exclusive resource of any knowledge we have about Him, His ways, or spiritual reality. The godly person avoids any contact with the occult and witchcraft.  Be warned that unfaithfulness to God may result in our hearts and minds being taken captive by the world system.  Do not seek out spiritual information or insight from any spiritual course other than the Holy Spirit or Christ centered counselors.  Be warned that doing so can result in serious judgment, even death.

 We need to depend on God, pray daily and study His word, and apply the Amour of God to ourselves and our families. When you do this, you will know that, without a doubt, you are being taken care of my your Heavenly Father. The next time you open that magazine up and the horoscopes hit you in the face, just say, "I don't think so you devil," and slam that magazine back down on the shelf. 

Remember, if you start your morning off with God, things the devil will try to send your way, will not even happen.
